Attorney Samantha Skenandore and Kewenvoyouma Law, PLLC received a 2012 WisDOT Tribal Excellence Award

Attorney Samantha Skenandore and  Kewenvoyouma Law, PLLC received a 2012 WisDOT Tribal Excellence Award on December 11, 2012. Tribal Excellence Awards are presented annually during the WisDOT Tribal Transportation Conferences. Award recipients are recognized for providing exemplary contributions and services to building and enhancing partnerships with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Wisconsin Tribal communities.  Kelly Jackson, Tribal Liaison stated, “[o]n behalf of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the WisDOT Tribal Transportation Conference Planning Committee, I extend my sincere gratitude for your outstanding performance and service to facilitating a stronger relationship between the WisDOT and Wisconsin tribal nations. Your work in the development and delivery of federal Indian law and related presentations offered as part of the Tribal Cultural Sensitivity sessions this past year demonstrated outstanding performance and service to tribal communities and WisDOT.  The overwhelming positive feedback provided by the attendees is proof of your ability to deliver complex topics in a meaningful and understandable manner. These session will have a long term impact on the working relationship between WIsDOT, FHWA and tribal representatives. It was also noted, that your flexibility in travel, scheduling and communication insured the training session were a success.  The additional work you provided in areas of research, drafting, planning and travel has not gone unnoticed.  Your outstanding presentation and services demonstrates you and the firms commitment to Tribes throughout the country.”
